Chrissy Teigen Is Saying What All Moms Are Thinking About Pregnancy And Childbirth
By Aimee LutkinUpdated July 23 2019, 11:40 a.m. ET
Model Chrissy Teigen just had her second child, but it wasn't all red carpet belly-holding and perfect makeup. Just like her relationship with John Legend, the Sports Illustrated model makes it perfectly clear that it may look perfect, but it's not. So, where else does Chrissy go to get real about pregnancy and childbirth? Well, Twitter of course.
Pregnancy gets exhausting, and the last few months are rough — from rocking an uncomfortable baby bump on the red carpet to giving birth for a second time. But at least Chrissy is honest about that:
happy pregnant Chrissy is gone. meet OVER IT Chrissy. Wanna hold my boy let’s do thisssssss
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 10, 2018Very, very honest, as her "Met gala" pic showed. That's a lot of baby to carry around inside:
waiting for my turn on the carpet at #metgala!!!! always an honor!!!
Not that she's ever been shy about sharing her body:
She's so luminous, even when she's sick of being pregnant!
But finally the day came when Chrissy Teigen was no longer pregnant, she was a woman with two kids:
Somebody’s herrrrrrre! 🍼🤗🍼🤗
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 17, 2018Here he is, Miles Theodore Stephens:
And he looks like Luna, according to Teigen, who would know:
Does he look like luna? 👶🏽
— Stephanie Hines (@stephaniehines_) May 18, 2018Same nose! He is a few weeks early so he’s litttttttle and makes the teeniest noises. We are in love. https://t.co/cASCxh6PvR
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 18, 2018Having a newborn hasn't kept Teigen off Twitter, thankfully. She was ready to post about the, um, pains of childbirth almost immediately afterward, writing that Miles caused her a bit less trauma than Luna:
I can confirm postpartum life is 90% better when you don't rip to your butthole. Baby boy: 1 point. Luna: 0
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 20, 2018Other mother's agree that getting ripped "to your butthole" is the part of childbearing we don't talk about enough, because it really really sucks:
My baby boy will be 25 in August and my butt still hurts.
— N H (@Gatun_CZ) May 20, 2018What are the stitches for? I thought they only used stitches in c-sections?
— nine (@V378_Nina) May 20, 2018lol bless you this is so cute
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 20, 2018I have a 24 year old, and can confirm that things are never the same after a 4th degree tear / shoulder dystocia
— 🏳️🌈Ginger Dragon #BoycottNRA🚫 (@dragondani2020) May 20, 2018Some think we should talk about it a LOT more:
If more women shared these stories with youths maybe we can help prevent teen pregnancy!
— Wesley Barnett (@StyleByTheBay) May 20, 2018It would prevent more adult pregnancy too! #childfree
— ren5pt0 (@renee5pt0) May 20, 2018Teigen also shared a photo of herself in medical mesh underwear, which is something a lot of new moms don't realize they might end up wearing:
Her followers loved it:
Thanks for getting the conversation started, Teigen, because it will haunt all our nightmares forever.
wow didn’t u just have a baby John smh go take care of it !!!!!! disgusting pic.twitter.com/l20XJGQ2Fu
— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 20, 2018And may you never change.
